Members of the Perthshire School’s senior Pipe Band were invited to join Skerryvore on stage to perform ‘The Rise’ during their new Tempus Tour of Scotland.

Strathallan piper Alexandra M, said, "Playing with Skerryvore was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My favourite bit of the concert was listening to this wall of sound and knowing I was part of it, and also the audience's reaction. All the band members were so buzzed afterwards - and it’s a night I will never forget! I have definitely caught the performing bug!"

Alexandra, who joined Strathallan five months ago, added, "I took up bagpipes late on, about two and a half years ago. I grew up surrounded by band music since my brother played in a pipe band. I very quickly fell in love with the instrument and I take every opportunity to play as much as I can! I have been playing with the Strathallan Pipe Band every day since the day I came to the school."

Strathallan Pipe Major, Josh Fraser, said, “I could not have been prouder of the pupils in the Pipe Band on Saturday night. It was a fantastic show for them to be part of and they were all extremely professional, performing excellently on stage. Thank you to our friends, Skerryvore, for allowing us to rock the stage with them! It was an experience they will never forget!”

This time last year, Strathallan School Pipe Band joined the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on stage and were featured in a track by SAINT PHNX – a Scottish rock duo.
