Art
Our Art Department is housed in its own purpose-built building with specially designed studios including a computer suite, a ceramic studio with kilns, a printmaking studio and a dark room.
From graphic design and textiles to film photography and animation, pupils are encouraged to experiment with the full range of artistic media available and unleash their creativity.
Dance
Our newly built Dance and Drama Studio is the perfect place for budding ballerinas to learn new skills under the expert tuition of our RAD qualified dance teacher.
Lessons are available for dancers of all levels in Highland, Scottish Country, Ballet, Jazz and Commercial dance styles. There's the opportunity to work towards dance exams, or just have some fun.
Drama
As well as studying Drama as part of the curriculum, there are lots of opportunities to get involved in performing arts outside the classroom.
There are plays and musical theatre performances every term that are open to all. Pupils can also work towards the world-renowned London Academy of Music and Drama Awards (LAMDA), a first step on the road to a career in the performing arts.
Music
Music forms a big part of the curriculum at Strathallan as well as being a central focus of our extra-curricular activities, with over 25 music groups of all different styles rehearsing each week.
There is a huge range of performance opportunities, from our annual Musical Showcase at Perth Concert Hall to playing in front of your friends for fun. From beginners to seasoned performers, everyone is encouraged to have a go and improve their skills along the way.
The development of Strathallan Studios, our in-house record label, provides our creative pupils with access to top quality producers and facilities to record their original material.
Strathallan School Pipe Band
Piping and drumming are popular activities at Strathallan and our four Pipe Bands continue to go from strength to strength. Helped by our world-class tutors, our pipers and drummers have been invited to play around the world including at festivals in Barbados, France and Italy. They were recently invited on stage to join Scottish rock legends, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
