Strathallan School is pleased to report that its Perthshire pupils have gained places at prestigious institutions across the globe this year including Oxford and Harvard.
Serbian student Vanja Z confirmed his place at New College, University of Oxford to read Electrical Engineering after he received two A*s and two As at A-Level.
The HMC Scholar, who joined Strathallan School three years ago, will study at Oxford alongside his older brother Mateja, who also attended Strathallan.
He said, “I honestly felt relieved when I got the grades and conditions I needed. It’s been a long process but seeing the email from New College confirming my place was incredible.”
Former Captain of School Charlotte G is already in Boston starting her first semester at Harvard University.
Charlotte, who was Captain of Girls Rugby and Scottish U18 Rugby player whilst at Strathallan, has been recruited for Harvard’s Women’s Rugby Team.
She said, “Boston is great and the team are so welcoming. I feel like I’ve found a home from home already.”
Also, in the United States is Orla F, who joined her older sister Izzy in St Charles, Missouri after receiving a Hockey Scholarship to Lindenwood.
Staying in Scotland, former pupil Roli S will study Medicine at the University of St Andrews after he picked up 4 A*s at A-Level.
Sofia F-K will study Engineering at Edinburgh University after she obtained two A*s and two As at A-Level.
Scottish U18 Rugby player Alex T will also attend Edinburgh University as he confirms his place to study Medicine and Scottish U20 tighthead prop Callum N will take his sporting career even further as he starts Physiology and Sports Science at Glasgow University this month.
Strathallan’s Head of Sixth Form, Fiona MacBain, said, “We are incredibly proud of our Class of 2022. Despite all of the adversity thrown their way over the last two years, they have put their all into these exams and are now reaping the rewards of that hard work. We wish each and every one of them the very best as they look ahead to the next chapter of their lives."
