Strathallan student claims UK Junior FITASC Championship

Strathallan School pupil Alasdair T has ended his shooting season in spectacular style, securing the UK Junior FITASC Championship title in Manchester.

Competing on a challenging FITASC layout with longer, more demanding shots, Alasdair demonstrated exceptional skill and focus to emerge as champion.

Reflecting on his win, Alasdair said, “Winning the UK Championship really cements the end of this season for me. There’s plenty to build on over the winter as I prepare for the European and World Championships.”

Alasdair hones his skills at Strathallan's Shooting Academy

Paul Vallot, Head of the Strathallan’s Shooting Academy, praised Alasdair’s achievement, “We are incredibly proud of Ali’s success this season. His hard work, combined with excellent guidance from our coaches, Clark and John MacBain, has truly paid off. Clay shooting is one of Scotland’s fastest-growing sports, and it’s a great source of pride to see our students excel at this level.”

Alasdair’s success follows his selection, alongside former pupil Molly Hall, for the Commonwealth and Olympic Trap development squads last year.

Looking ahead, Alasdair has ambitious plans. “Next year, I’m aiming to take my shooting to the next level. After a gap year to hone my skills, I hope to secure a scholarship to a university in the USA to further develop my abilities.”
