Captain of the senior netball team, Chloe McM said, “Perth High School didn’t make it easy for us and it was a really close game but we played with high intensity from the start and stuck to our plan.”
“It’s amazing to even think that we’ve reached the semi-final, it shows all our hardwork paying off. I’m really proud to lead the team and so proud of the girls and the effort they have put in.”
“I play with the majority of the Perth High School team outside of school in Club and District netball so it was really nice to have them here and even though it was very competitive, there was great sportswomanship from both sides. It’s great to see Perthshire pupils doing so well.”
Chloe’s senior Open team aren’t the only Strathallan side advancing through the Scottish Schools Cup this year. The school’s U13s are through to the S1 semi-final and the U15s will face either Firrhill High School or James Gillespie’s High School in the S3 Quarter Final in the next few weeks. Head of Netball at Strathallan, Louise Waugh, said, “We are thrilled to have three teams in the schools cup this year. This is my first year looking after our netball teams and there’s so much momentum behind the game right now with lots of girls looking to participate. All the teams are working really well together and coming to every practice. We are so proud of them.”
