Strathallan swimmers make a splash at Tayside Schools Swimming Championships

After a three-year hiatus, the prestigious swimming competition returned to Tayside on Tuesday 1st and Thursday 3rd November.

18 Strathallan School students, aged 12 to 18, competed in a variety of events in Forfar, coming back to Perthshire with fantastic results and personal bests (PBs) across the board.

Elaine Johnston, Head of Swimming, said, “We are absolutely delighted with all their performances. This is a hugely positive start to the racing season and great to see so many excellent executions of race plans in the pool.”

Tuesday

Relay Medals:

12 & U Boys Relay – Silver – Ross McL, George M, Bertie A and James S.

15/16 Girls Relay – Gold – Harrie W, Matilda A, Ella S and Grace H.

Individual Medals:

Evan D - Boys 15/16 - Gold in 200 free, 100 fly and 100 back.

Grace H – Girls 15/16 - Bronze in 200 and 100 breastroke.

Harrie W - Girls 15/16 Bronze in 200 IM

Thursday

Relay Medals:

Boys 13/14 relay won Gold convincingly, a great result from the team of Jacob H, Finlay B, Freddie Land Euan W.

Individual Medals:

Eight swimmers competed individually and returned excellent results and PB’s.

Euan W – Boys 13/14 – Gold 200 IM & 200 back

Jacob H – Boys 13/14 - Bronze 200 free, Silver 100 free

Finlay B – Boys 13/14 -Silver 200 free, Bronze 100 free

Owen C – Boys 17/19 – Gold 200 IM, silver 100 b/c

James G – Boys 17/19 – Gold 100 free & Breast, Silver 200 IM

Elise C – Girls 17/19 – Gold 100 & 200 free

Katelyn T – Girls 17/19 – Gold 100 fly, silver 100 free

Kristin M – Girls 13/14 – Gold 200 IM, 100 fly & 100 br

Overall:

3 relays – 3 medals (2 Gold, 1 Silver)

11 individual – 24 medals (14 Gold,5 Silver, 5 Bronze)
