Strathallan cadet chosen to represent Highlands at national conference

A Perthshire pupil has been chosen to represent seven schools including her own at the ACF/CCF Senior Army Cadet Conference in November.

Strathallan student and Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Anna M was selected from all the Combined Cadet Forces in Scotland to represent the Highland CCFs in 51 Brigade.

Anna, who became an Army Cadet four years ago when she joined Strathallan, said she was thrilled to have been selected.

“I'm always proud to represent the Strathallan CCF, but to be able to represent the CCFs of other extremely dedicated schools with strong military traditions as well is a great privilege,” she said.

“I hope to represent all the schools fairly and will be working hard to relay their messages.”

Anna will represent the CCFs for Robert Gordon’s College, High School of Dundee, Glenalmond College, Dollar Academy, Morrisons Academy, Strathallan School and Queen Victoria School at the annual conference next month.

The conference will be taking place on Zoom this year and will see senior cadets and staff discussing the amazing things that CCFs do.

Major Charlotte Marjoribanks, Strathallan CCF Contingent Commander, said, “Being selected to represent the views of cadets in a number of CCFs is an honour and a privilege and I know Anna will be a great ambassador for the school. She is an outstanding cadet RSM and I know she will be fantastic at conveying the news and ideas from the Highland CCFs.”

Anna recently helped run Strathallan's CCF Field Day, which saw more than a hundred cadets from the school's three sections receive in-depth training. Find out more
