Rachel called up for Scottish Hockey Squad for 8 Nations Tournament

Recent Strathallan School graduate, Rachel Fagerson, has been selected to represent Scotland in the prestigious 8 Nations Tournament with the Scottish Hockey Aspiring Girls Squad in Granada.

This exciting news came during her final week at Strathallan School, capping off her school career on a high note.

Rachel, who has been playing hockey since the age of eight, expressed her joy and pride at being chosen for the U18 team following her selection for the U17 team last year.

She said, "Getting the call-up for the U18 team after my selection for U17 last year is a great feeling. Knowing that I can play for Scotland makes me so proud. I hope we can give it our all and enjoy every match."

Gill Green, Director of Hockey at Strathallan, praised Rachel's dedication and positive attitude. "Well-deserved selection for Rachel with all her hard work and positive attitude. We wish her and the Scotland squad all the very best for Granada," Green commented.

Rachel continues the tradition of Strathallan pupils representing Scotland on the international stage, following in the footsteps of Ross Telfer and Hamish Norval, who were recently called up to the Scottish U21 Men's Squad.

Hamish playing for Scotland

Reflecting on his recent test games against England and Wales, Hamish said, "It feels amazing to be back playing in the Scotland kit again. It's been a while since I've been able to, so it feels good to be back on my feet after putting in the work."
