Eva who began horse-vaulting two years ago with the Kinross Vaulting Group, was named Scottish Champion at her second-ever competition last year and the 12-year-old schoolgirl shows no signs of stopping.
“It was amazing to win with the team,” she said. “I was nervous at the start but it was good fun. I’ve never stayed overnight for a two-day competition before.”
“I love horse-vaulting because it’s unusual but you get to put your balance to the test and work together with your horse to put on a performance.”

Eva, who is a pupil at Strathallan Prep School, came 8th individually and 1st in the team event. She said the win has inspired her to plan for next year’s competition season.
She added, “We’ll keep training through the winter and come up with new music and a new freestyle routine for 2023.”

Eva is one of the youngest students in the school’s Equestrian Team, which caters to all kinds of equestrian styles including Show Jumping, Cross Country and Dressage.
Every year Strathallan hosts its own Show Jumping Competition inviting over 100 riders from local schools and pony clubs to compete in the Autumn. This year’s event saw fantastic results for Strathallan students who won the 55cm, 85cm and 1m individual classes.
