Top shot Molly guns for gold at British Shotgun Series

Strathallan School pupil Molly H shot to top place at the British Shotgun Series in Cambridge earlier this month, setting a new Scottish Record in the process.

In a final showdown of the top six shots, Molly clinched first place, earning her a GB qualification spot before her exams begin at school.

Reflecting on her achievement, Molly said, “It was my first ever Olympic Trap qualification after being selected for the development squads alongside Alasdair in November. It was nerve-wracking competing against unfamiliar faces, but winning gold in England felt amazing."

Molly, who gets to train several times a week at Strathallan Shooting Academy’s purpose-built shooting range, became the first Scottish woman to win the Welsh Junior Open in 2022 and has been on top form since picking up shooting in 2020.

She was recently part of the Strathallan Shooting Team who were crowned British Schools Clay Shooting Champions in March at the Oxford Gun Company, where Molly took the top prize in the Ladies category and secured 48/50 clays against leading English Schools including Millfield, Wellington and Warwick.

The Strathallan Shooting teams then went on to win nine out of a possible eleven trophies at the Elite British Open Schools Championships held in Dunkeld by County Clays.
