Strathallan School's Senior Boys Tennis team is gearing up for a week of competition as they prepare for the LTA Schools National Championships, set to take place from June 27th to 30th at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.

With an impressive total of 165 entrants in the boys' event, the stage is set for intense battles and remarkable displays of skill and sportsmanship.

Having navigated through the regional knockout stage with finesse, Strathallan School's Senior Boys Tennis team has emerged as a formidable force, recording victories over Madras College, Portobello High School, Altrincham Grammar, and Lancaster Grammar to secure their place in the National Finals. The team's exceptional performances have earned them a spot among the top 16 teams, guaranteeing them a minimum of four matches as they vie for their final position from 1st to 16th.

The tournament promises to be a showcase of top-tier talent from schools across the UK. Strathallan will first face Sevenoaks School from Kent in a highly-anticipated opening match.

The Strathallan School Senior Boys Tennis team, comprised of Marcus McL, Jed McM, Ben C, Nicholas B, and Thomas D, is brimming with excitement and determination as they approach the National Finals. Captain Marcus McL, who has spent nine years at Strathallan School, is particularly eager for the challenge that lies ahead of the team.

Marcus said, "This is what we've been working so hard for all year. It's a huge honour to represent our school and compete against some of the best schools in the country. We've put in the hours of practice and now it's time to prove ourselves on the court and give it our all!"

Marcus, who recently helped Newlands Club win the Scottish Cup, has earned a place on the University of Stirling's prestigious tennis programme.

Commenting on the upcoming finals, Tommy Ogilvie, Head of Tennis at Strathallan, expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments and their unwavering commitment throughout the year.

He stated, "The team is looking forward to the finals; they have been working towards this as a goal this year. We are excited about the challenge of competing against some of the best schools in the UK. It is a great way for the team to conclude the school year, especially for our captain Marcus, who has been an exceptional leader during his time at Strathallan. We wish the boys the very best of luck for Finals week."
