Brothers Qualify for Junior European Golf Open

Strathallan students Nicholas and Lucas have qualified for the prestigious Junior European Open, set to take place in Spain at the end of November.

After a series of impressive performances, the brothers will head out in November to compete against the best young golfers in Europe.

This season has been particularly strong for the duo. Nicholas and Lucas represented Perth and Kinross at the Scottish Boys Area Team Championship, held recently at Duff House Royal. Lucas, the AGC Junior Champion for the second consecutive year, has also reduced his handicap to 5 and been selected for the SG Foundation Winter Training Squad.

Lucas and Nicholas

Nicholas said, "This season has been busy, with plenty of events across the country. It’s been a great learning experience, and having Lucas with me makes it even better. Competing together, we push each other to improve."

For Lucas, it’s an exciting new challenge, "This is my first time qualifying for the European Open, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how we measure up against some of the best young players in Europe. It’s a great opportunity."

The pair is looking forward to the competition, with a friendly rivalry between them adding an extra layer of excitement. Nicholas, who has been playing competitively for several years, shared, "It's more competitive now between us, and Lucas is catching up fast, so I need to keep improving!"

We wish both Nicholas and Lucas the very best as they prepare to take on this exciting challenge!
